dysfunction between us
southern tea spiked with sex
spilled slowly like kisses from your sweet mouth
droplets scattered, my childhood on the floor
while i searched for answers
in the cracks in the wall
there's a hole through my chest
or perhaps my ribcage is shrinking
smaller and smaller, i'm sure of it
because i can barely breathe
i'm diving straight through you, and i'm lost
press your skin against mine
and let me taste forever in your eyes

wow there is allot to comment about in this poem, several images and thoughts come to mind; namely the loss of the individual as they merge into one chaotic being; there is a fear and hesitation to it, because our ego is us, without it we have no identity; and yet the narrator is looking past her fears, her insecurities and doubts about the future...just to feel like a connected being for one moment. it is a terrifying and beautiful thought.
Thank you, Mike... I feel like you really got this one. Awesome :)
:) no worries
